Ms. Nancy Ansah, the MBA Co-ordinator, was recently in The Gambia to participate in a forum on the involvement of NGOs in the 50th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights and to witness the 24th African Human Rights Book Fair.
Ms. Ansah, who took part in the opening session of the programme, joined the working group on HIV & AIDS and Human & Women’s Rights in presenting a roadmap as part of resolutions submitted to the 50th Ordinary Session of the Commission taking place from October 24 - November 7, 2011.

Participants of the 3rd intake of the Regent-Maastricht MBA students were in Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands, for their attachment. Their attachment started on September 26, 2011 and ended on October 6, 2011. During their stay at MSM, Dr. R. Goedegebuure delivered the following modules: Marketing in a Global Context and Master Thesis Writing Workshop.
Apart from the lectures from Dr. R. Goedegebuure, the Ghanaian MBA students also participated in work visits.

The President and CEO, Prof. E. Kingsley Larbi, has attributed low productivity among all levels of workers of the University to indiscipline and other forms of laxity. He said with the right attitude to work, great possibilities present in the country could be harnessed by people of vision to improve their circumstances to the advantage of themselves and the greater community, which includes the academia.

The Regent University College of Science & Technology organized a two day workshop on Examination Auditing for selected staff on Monday 13 & 14th June, 2011. The Purpose of the workshop was to sharpen the skills of staff who are in charge of examinations at Regent University and to improve their capacity to deliver quality services to ensure that the conduct of examinations conforms to the highest standards expected.

Students of the Regent-Maastricht MBA programme met the President & CEO of Regent University College, Prof. E. Kingsley Larbi, and other senior members of the University, on Friday, February 18, 2011. The meeting, which took place over dinner, brought together, for the first time, students of all the three intakes (classes). It was an evening to remember. As participants dined, wined and danced to beautiful tunes by Raquel, a well known musician, they also engaged the President & CEO in issues of mutual concern.

On Monday, November 20 2010, Dr Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu, a Senior Robotics Engineer at NASA, delivered a well-attended public lecture titled: Great Adventures on the Surface of Mars: Spirit, Opportunity, and Phoenix Lander, at the City Campus of Regent University College of Science & Technology, Accra.

The first international conference on Tourism and Economic Development (TED’ 11) came off at the University Centre, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Romania, from October 27 to 29, 2011, alongside the International Conference on Environment, Economics, Energy, Device, System, Communications, Computer and Mathematics.

Adu Anane Antwi is the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Until his appointment, he managed his private firm of financial consultants and investment lawyers and was also a partner in a firm of chartered accountants. He worked as the Director of corporate finance and investment management at SEC from 1999 to 2003 and as the director of fund management and investment at the National Health Insurance Authority from 2005 to 2006. He had also previously worked at the Ghana National procurement Agency (GNPA Ltd) from 1981 to 1999 where he held various positions.
